The Things War Leaves Behind: Truth, Healing, and the Long Road Home

A psychologist and military officer’s exploration of what service asks of us, what it changes, and what can remain long after the uniform comes off.

The Things War Leaves Behind examines the emotional and psychological aftermath of military service, including trauma, identity, grief, relationships, moral injury, and the difficult transition between military and civilian life. Written with both clinical insight and personal understanding, the book offers an honest look at experiences that are often difficult to explain and even harder to leave behind.
